The base gives added on context to the story with have the literal subject (education) based on Christian theology. The narrative is of the negative perceptions of homeschooling and how it is always on the attack; this is represented on one side of the piece. The first sculpture is the literal backstory to the second sculpture and represents homeschooling persecution through a bust with a house for a head that has its fourth wall removed. This is done to show the inside like a doll house but instead of furniture are books and an apple to represen

I saw it as a sad story where the main character, Gregor, was helpless and couldn’t do anything about his situation and felt bad for not being able to help his family. The family dynamics towards the main character were harsh and upsetting. From these emotions, I created a room reflecting decay and disgust the the family felt for the main character. The bed is even a cockroach lying on his back (calling back to how the readers start the story). I did this to reflect on that helplessness feeling he had, not being able to do anything to help his situation. His blanket and pillow are stained and lay on top of the bed to represent how the family tried to cover up his existence. On the floor of the room there is a gross green rug and a rotting

Dinner and a Movie ~ Shawna Huskey

Image
Dinner and a Movie by Shawna Huskey Fall Semester 3D Materials and Concepts 2021 “Be Our Guest” Digital Image Shawna Huskey Movie Inspiration: Beauty and the Beast (1991) For this piece, I was inspired by my childhood. Sparking some nostalgia, I became inspired. Creating ambiguity and symbolism through multiple seemingly normal everyday objects in one image. I wanted is to show the viewers a story by just presenting the puzzle pieces. Emphasis on the roses and feather are presented through various leading directional lines. All the objects and even vibrant royal colors of gold and blue are meant to represent two characters. They could be lovers, they could be traitors, or it could tell a different story entirely. With the focus being on telling a story meaning the events have come to pass and now here is what was left behind.

Touch Assignment

Tattoos Digital Illustration Quote: " Ultimately, tattoos make unique the surface of one's self, embody one's secret dreams, adorn with magic emblems the Altamira of the flesh."  ( Diane Ackerman,   A Natural History of the Senses,  pg. 100). Statement: The illustration is to show touch in a physical and emotional way. This shows how the skin is a unique fabric to stitch into. Tattoos are seen as the patchwork to the body, hence the phrase, 'don't be sad, get a tattoo'. They are also a form of self-expression and one's identity through the artistry of a needle. I thought to take inspiration from the quote and my own interpretation to create this image I saw in my mind. Much like how patchwork quilts are made with love in their stitches, so are tattoos. Hunger Digital Collage Quote: " We play at devouring each other, digesting each other, we nurse on each other, drink each other's fluids, actually get under each other's skin." ( Dian
